Prenatal Vitamins

When I first started to try and get pregnant I wanted the best possible vitamins I could find.  I thought I had found them, however, now I'm wondering if I made my condition worse! The thing is I researched that endometriosis can be caused or made worse by having too much Estrogen.  I do wonder if my Estrogen levels being high already, perhaps, then taking vitamins perhaps made my hormones even more all over the place.  I don't know for sure.
I decided for the moment instead of taking a prenatal vitamins I would look for something that would balance my hormones and may help to shrink my endometriosis.   I did find some online but they recommended that people who are trying to get pregnant to not take them.  So then I came across the vitamins called Fertility Smart.  I didn't read the reviews too much because I figured those who did become pregnant would say it worked and those who didn't would say it did not work.

Instead I took a look at what the ingredients were and researched how good they were for endometriosis.  After the research I decided I should give it a try and ordered a 3 month supply.

They recommend taking 2 a day, I am currently just coming to the end of my first month.  I have seen some positives as after just two weeks I noticed I had a lot more energy that normal.  Usually I really struggle to motivate myself but after two weeks of these I was getting loads done.   I did think maybe it was just a one off and just a good day.  However, day after day I have plenty of energy and am getting loads done.  I really hope that this is a sign of my hormones getting back to where they should be and hopefully I could be on my way to getting pregnant.  I also noticed I seem to be in a much more positive and happier mood than usual.  My partner even joked by saying - what are you taking because you are laughing and joking all the time.  I can only put it down to these vitamins.  So being a good mood is definitely a plus.  I will let you know if I do get pregnant while taking these but my point of this article is:  don't just start taking a vitamin or supplement thinking it will do you good.   Have a real good look at the ingredients and do your research.  Find out if your body really needs those ingredients or could they do you more harm than good.  I think you should check what vitamins you need to get pregnant and for a healthy pregnancy then maybe do a blood test to see if you are low in any vitamins.  Then concentrate on those rather than just assuming you need to increase your intake on vitamins.   Also check with your doctor on their recommendation.  We are so quick to go and buy these things and vitamins etc are not regulated like other medicines so who knows what we are really doing to our body when taking these things.  Anyway in my next post I want to talk about my diet and what I eat.
